Now that he's back from the honeymoon, there's one item of essential equipment Prince William can't do without at his cottage in Northern Wales: his Le Chameau Chasseur Wellingtons. The Range Rover of rubber boots, each pair of Le Chameaus is handmade by a single boot maker in Pont d'Ouilly, France from start to finish using only 100 percent natural rubber. Besides forming an excellent barrier to water, natural rubber offers a high resistance to wear, cutting and tearing, and results in a much better fit and a more comfortable boot all around. No wonder they've been a favorite of aristocratic sportsmen since 1927.

You know you want them... so buy them already! "That was my wife's advice, after I lamented for what seemed like months over the purchase of these boots. They're not any more expensive than a pair of dress shoes, so while pricey for rubber boots, they're not that far over the top. In the end, while it took me a while to decide, I couldn't be happier with these boots!

It takes 9 months of intense training to become a Chameau boot maker. 9 months to acquire the unique skills which have been passed down through generations, from master to apprentice, so that the wearer has the assurance of a boot hand made with the same care and craftsmanship that they were over 80 years ago. In 1927, Claude Chamot made his first boots in natural rubber. Comfortable, supple and handmade, "Chamot" boots seduced both hunters and farmers in the area.

This is a fabulous boot. The rubber is soft, the footbed is comfortable and the height and calf size perfect. I have very skinny calves and narrow foot and heel. I did put a soft sole lining in which made the boot fit snug. No sliding foot with this boot and there is lots of room for big toe. I can wear these all day with no problem, unlike the cheaper boots I owned that were too wide and sloppy on the foot. Since I walk on uneven terrain, it is important for the foot to not slip around in the boot. I highly recommend these. Definitely designed for a woman's foot and not bulky.

Love these boots! I was originally looking at Hunter boots but went with these because the boot shaft was a little wider and I could never find the color of the Hunter boots that I wanted in stock. They do run a little big-I would order a half or full size smaller than your regular shoe size (I think they only come in whole sizes though). Great color and excellent quality-they go with everything and will last a long time. I did receive them a day later than I was suppose to but the shipping was free so no complaints here! Endless possibilities!

I am an unabashed fan of Le Chameau boots. I'm on my second pair of the Chasseurs, the first pair having lasted me for eight years of heavy and abusive use. When they finally wore out and sprung a small leak, I immediately bought a new pair that very day. Not being able to part with the old ones, I kept them for yard work and chores. They are unquestionably the most comfortable, driest, and best all-around boot I've ever owned.
